Student Post Office

The student Post Office is located in the SIÅs adm. near Andedammen. The Student Post Office is not a regular post office. Here only the delivery of student post takes place. Today's mail should normally be distributed in the postboxes at 14:00 on weekdays. From the 19th of April 2020 it will be changes in the opening hours for the mailbox facilities at the Students post office. The front door will only be open from 08.00 – to 16.00 o’clock from Monday to Friday. Saturdays, Sundays and holidays it will be closed. The service / delivery of packages at “luka” will still have the same opening hours, from 12.00 to 15.00 Monday to Friday.

When you receive the "Melding om postsending" form, you must check the following:

If you receive a WHITE FORM postmarked "1430 ÅS", pick up the consignment in Coop Extra in Raveien 9, Ås.
If you receive a GREENE FORM marked "LUKA - Student Post - HER", please pick up the shipment at the Student Post Office.

You can post messages to other students through the mailbox opening in the mailbox facility. After kl. 12.00 you can get help with submitting post that are too large. Refer to LUKA!

Redirecting your mail

We will redirect your mail when you are on a long vacation or exchange (more than 14 working days). Please let us know when you need to redirect your mail, so we can get your mail sent to the right address right away.

When you leave NMBU you must update posten.no with your new address. We will help you by mailing your mail for up to 30 days after you leave.

We place great importance on authorised access to student mail:

We therefore ask for identification when we need to deliver mail directly. Have you forgotten your key? Unfortunately, we aren't able to get the item for you. If you have lost your key, you have to get a new one from our office in Smia at SiÅs Bolig.
Correct mailing address

Students living in our student accommodation can get post box. The same goes for spouses and partners of students living in our student accommodation.

Children of students may use the student's address. Our mailbox system is too small for everyone to have their own mailbox. Most people have to share their mailbox with someone else. Therefore, you must not remove mail belonging to someone else. Notify LUKA if someone isn't collecting their post.

Using the correct mailing address is essentials for preventing delays. Your mailing address at NMBU is: Student Name, Postbox ###, NMBU 1432 ÅS

Always remember to give your mailbox number and not your home address. Some people sometimes give their residential address (e.g. Mølla 101, Skogveien 28, etc.). This delays the delivery of mail. In our experience, those who use the wrong mailing address will get their mail after a delay of 1-2 days.

We therefore ask for help to prevent delays:

Be sure to give all your contacts your correct mailing address number. If you are away traveling, you must notify for redirecting at least 1 week in advance. (Unfortunately, we cannot redirect mail for periods shorter than 14 working days). For graduates, your change of address must be reported by the 1st July of your final year. (If you are going to continue studying here, please notify us in good time, before 1 July).
Stamps

The student post office does not sell stamps, but you can buy them in Boksmia.

The red postbox for outgoing mail is emptied once every day, at around 16.00.
