The University chaplain, Sigurd A. Bakke, has extensive experience as a clergyman and conversation partner. If you need someone to talk to, consult or discuss with, he is available for a chat. His office is located in the basement of the Clock Building on the left hand side. Next to his office you will find a quiet room open for all students. This room can be used by all students wanting to pray, meditate or just need of a moment of silence.
The Universitychaplain at NMBU has three main tasks:
1) Highlight that all students are entitled to freedom of religion and belief. The student chaplain is available for students of all faiths and beliefs, including Atheists.
2) Be a conversation partner for anyone who needs somebody to talk with. With thestudentchaplain you can talk about anything from exams, studies, death and sorrow, to love, faith and finding your own way in life. The chaplain is bound by a confidentiality agreement.
3) Religious duties and church services. The last Thursday of the month, the student chaplain welcomes all to an open Church service in Åskirke. At times he also participates in the meetings of the Christian Student Society at Samfunnet.
It is not always easy to talk with friends or family members, and you may need an experienced person who can provide a different perspective.
You are welcome to stop by for a chat!
