Student Ombudsman
Student Ombudsman
The Student Ombudsman works with students' rights at NMBU. The Student Ombudsman helps to ensure that your rights as a student are safeguarded. The Student Ombudsman provides impartial, legal guidance related to your study situation.
The Student Ombudsman provides assistance in matters concerning the reporting of objectionable matters.
Be it information and advice before the report is made, or afterwards in the form of support and
guidance. All assistance from the Student Ombudsman is free of charge and without obligation. The Student Ombudsman at NMBU treats your matters confidentially and also welcomes you who wish to remain anonymous.
The Student Ombudsman can help you with, among other things:
- Information and training on relevant legislation and rights.
- Advice on what you can and should do in your case or when reporting objectionable matters.
- An assessment of whether your case has been handled correctly and appropriately, and possibly help you with a complaint.
- To facilitate the resolution of a case at the lowest possible level at the institution, if the case is suitable for that.
- To hold courses and training for student representatives.
- To inform the principal on an ongoing basis about particularly serious or fundamental matters.
- To report on the ombudsman's activities in semi-annual reports that are presented to the board and LMU as information matters.
The Student Ombudsman has an office on the ground floor of the Urbygningen building.
