Housing Committee - Bomiljøutvalg
The Housing Committee (BMU) is a meeting place for SiÅs and their tenants. BMU meets roughly twice per semester.
BMU contributes to good living conditions and student welfare in SiÅs student accommodation. BMU discusses problems the tenants may have, ongoing/planned renovations, and promote proposals for projects to the Maintenance Committee.
Complaints about living conditions should be sent to BMU via representatives or SiÅs. These might be complaints about noise from neighbours, about dogs, smoking or likewise. SiÅs will try to resolve any complaints before they are sent to BMU.
What are the tenant representatives responsibilities?
Tenant representatives are representing the tenants in the living area and act as their contact person. Their contact details should be easy to find, and they should be available to tenants in their residential area. Ahead of the meetings, representatives should contact other tenants via meetings, email or knocking on doors to get input. SiÅs can assist sending out emails. Representatives have contact with SiÅs Housing. It is desirable that representatives remain in post as long as possible.
What is the welfare representative's responsibilities ?
The welfare representative calls the BMU meetings, sets the agenda and encourages members to bring issues. The Welfare representative leads the meetings and writes the reports. The welfare manager ensures the best possible participation by contacting the block leaders in Pentagon and the residents in advance. The welfare manager prepares a "pack" for new members, with reports from the previous meetings and a handbook for the BMU.
What is the SiÅs's housing director's responsibilities?
Sias's housing director is the representatives' contact person in SiÅs. The housing director's responsibilities are:
-
participate in dialogue with the representatives about problems and challenges.
-
contribute to the agenda, and will inform and update on any ongoing or planned renovations.
-
communicate directly with block leaders in each residential area.
-
ensure that representatives recieve laminated information sheets with contact information which can be posted in each residential area.
