The Health Center for Youth and Students

The Health Center for Youth and Students cooperates with SiÅs and NMBU providing a free health service for all NMBU students. The health center provides students with preventive health services related to mental health, sexual health, and lifestyle issues.

The team includes public health nurses, psychologists, doctors, midwife and a health secretary. The health center also organizes different courses. No referral is needed to access this short-term service.

Drop-in: Mondays from 8.30 am to 11 am, and Wednesdays from 2.30 pm to 7 pm.
Telephone hours: All weekdays at 8.30 am to 11 am and 1 pm to 3 pm (Wednesdays until 7 pm)

Please be aware that the Health Center for Youth and NMBU students offers help within primary health care during a short period (up to 8 calls). If you are in need of more specialized mental health care, we recommend you to contact your GP/family doctor instead.

Chlamydia

Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted infection that easily infects. Test yourself at each partner exchange or if you have symptoms. Free condoms and home test for chlamydia can be obtained from the waiting room at the Health Center for Youth and Students and at SiÅs' Student Post office at NMBU. We have our own mailbox for chlamydia tests at the Student Post office.
Sexual health

Do you have questions about sex, sexuality, sexual identity, contraception, pregnancy, or sexually transmitted diseases? The health centre for young people and students can help you.
Mental Health

Are you struggling with difficult thoughts and feelings? Unhappiness? Grief? Mental health? Loneliness? Eating disorders? The health centre for young people and students can help you.
Addiction and lifestyle issues

Have you lost control, do you need help with drugs, alcohol, snus, smoking, pornography, gaming or anything else? At the health centre for young people and students, you can talk to someone.
Travel vaccinations

If you are planning to travel outside Western Europe you may need some vaccinations. You can get travel vaccinations at the health centre in Ås. This service requires payment. Call 64 96 22 40 to book an appointment.
