Getting a General Practitioner (GP)

All international students staying in Norway for more than 12 months have the right to register with a GP - called a fastlege in Norway. You will need your personal Norwegian ID-number before you can register with a GP. Don't worry: you can still see a doctor even if you don't have your ID-number or are staying for less than a year.

For emergencies after 16.00 and at the weekends, call Follo legevaktsentral: 64 87 19 30. In an emergency, call a ambulance on 113. If you do not have a GP in Ås, but still need to talk to a doctor, contact Follo Medical Centre to find an available GP.
